Starr County reports first COVID-19 related death
Starr County confirmed its first COVID-19 related death Saturday.
“It is with a heavy heart that [Starr County Health Authority Dr. Jose Vazquez] and I report the first COVID-19 related fatality case in Starr County. I offer my deepest condolences and privacy to the family,” Starr County Judge Eloy Vera said in a statement. “Please continue to practice safety precautions as the pandemic continues despite increased business opportunities.”
On Friday evening, Starr County officials confirmed they had a total of 48 COVID-19 cases with 27 of those marked as recovered and the remaining 21 people currently recovering under medical supervision.
