The total number of known COVID-19 cases in Hidalgo County has risen to 842 after 38 more people tested positive for the COVID-19 virus, Hidalgo County Judge Richard F. Cortez said Wednesday.
44 people have been hospitalized with complications from the virus with five of those cases being treated in intensive care units.
“In the past two weeks we have seen hospitalizations nearly triple,” Judge Cortez said in a wednesday news release. “The virus continues to spread in our community. We urge residents to do their part to stop the spread by maintaining good hygiene, wearing facial coverings and avoiding large crowds.”
There are currently 1,585 tests pending and a total of 366 active cases sd 15 people were released from isolation today.
