In two weeks, the Mission CISD will hold a public meeting to discuss and approve the 2020-2021 budget and proposed tax rate.
This week, Assistant Superintendent for Finance Rumalda Ruiz presented a draft of the budget to the Mission Consolidated Independent School District Board of Trustees, along with the proposed tax rate.
The proposed maintenance and operations tax rate is 1.0547 per $100 valuation, and a debt service tax rate of 0.1713 per $100 valuation, for a total tax rate of 1.2260 per $100 valuation.
For the 2019-2020 school year, the board approved a tax rate of 1.2396 per $100 valuation. The board authorized the recommendation to publish notice of the public hearing, as well as the regular meeting in which it will be approved, for Wednesday, June 24, 2020.
