4 arrested in shooting near Madero area

Four individuals were arrested following a Sunday afternoon shooting that left an individual with a gunshot in his mouth.

Mission police responded to a call from a U.S. Customs and Border Protection agent who was flagged down for help by a female driver near Los Indios Road and Conway Avenue who had a male passenger who had been shot in the mouth, Mission police Chief Robert Dominguez said.

The female driver led police to a residence on the 200 block of Bogamilia street where she told police the shooting had taken place at.

At the scene, a male subject immididately turned himself in to police while another male suspect barricaded himself at the home and came out after he was coaxed by police, Dominguez said.

“We’re still trying to decipher exactly what happened, it’s going to take us a while,” Dominguez said, adding that the suspects are not cooperating with police.

“They’re not saying anything they’re staying quiet. We’re hoping witnesses give us more information,”Dominguez said.

The unidentified shooting victim was transported to McAllen Medical Center and police believe he’ll survive the shooting, Dominguez said.

Dominguez added that the suspects may be arraigned by Tuesday.
