10 more COVID-19 deaths reported over the weekend
Hidalgo County health officials reported 10 more COVID-19 related deaths and 181 new positive cases of the disease on Monday, Hidalgo County Judge Richard F. Cortez said Tuesday.
With the new numbers, the county is now looking at 1,934 recorded deaths related to the outbreak of this disease and 35,281 known positive cases. 2,121 of those cases are active.
“I am saddened by the growing numbers of dead from this vicious disease,” Judge Cortez said in a statement. “I offer sincere condolences to the family and friends of those who have died.”
175 people are in area hospitals and 69 of them are in intensive care units to be treated for COVID-19 related symptoms.
