COVID-19 cases continue to steadily rise as Hidalgo County reported on Tuesday 526 new cases of the disease, meaning there is now a total of 43,546 known positive cases of the disease in Hidalgo County.
Of those cases, 1,963 remain active.
Tuesday’s announcement also revealed 13 new COVID-19 related deaths, bringing the total amount of people lost to the contagious disease to 2,063.
The deaths included nine men and four women from the cities of Donna, Edinburg, McAllen, Mission, Weslaco and two individuals from undisclosed locations. Their ages ranged from 40s to over the 70s age range.
COVID-19 hospitalizations continue to increase as they rose to 221 on Tuesday with 81 of those COVID-19 patients being treated in intensive care units.
