Flood Control Capital Improvement Plan: 2021 – 2030

The City of Peñitas will be accepting public comments and hosting public hearings regarding its proposed Flood Control Capital Improvement Plan: 2021 – 2030 (“Capital Improvement Plan”).

As part of its outreach plan, City of Peñitas will be accepting public comments and hosting public hearings. Members of the public are strongly encouraged to participate in this process.

The public comment period will be open from March 1, 2021, until March 15, 2021.

City of Peñitas Mayor Rodrigo “Rigo” Lopez and the City Council of the City of Peñitas are emphasizing the mitigation of flooding over the next decade. To achieve this, the City of Peñitas is developing a plan to address the major flooding issues the city faces. The City of Peñitas will be seeking to prioritize grant funding and low-interest loans to finance the vast majority of these projects.

Public Hearings will be held at 5:30 p.m. on 3/3/2021 and at 5:30 p.m. on 3/10/2021 at the City of Peñitas Public Library located at 1111 S. Main St., Penitas, Texas 78576. Members of the public can attend these public hearings in person, telephonically, or via zoom.

Complete copies of the Capital Improvement Plan are available for pickup from 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, at the City of Peñitas Public Library located at 1111 S. Main St., Penitas, Texas 78576 or at https://www.cityofpenitas.com.
