SOUTH TEXAS HEALTH SYSTEM OFFERING DISCOUNTED MAMMOGRAMS DURING THE MONTH OF MAY AS PART OF ITS CINCO DE MAMMO AFFAIR
The promotion aims to raise awareness for breast cancer in the community while encouraging Valley women to get their annual mammography screenings
Breast cancer is the second most common cancer among women in the United States, with approximately 250,000 women diagnosed with the disease each year, according to the CDC. To help combat breast cancer and stress the importance of getting an annual mammogram and early detection, South Texas Health System is once again launching its special Cinco de Mammo promotion.
From May 3-31, various South Texas Health System facilities throughout the community will be offering a discounted rate of $55* for 2D digital mammograms, as well as bone density screenings for $75*. The locations include South Texas Health System McAllen, where they exclusively offer 3D digital mammograms for $150; South Texas Health System Edinburg; South Texas Health System ER Mission; and South Texas Health System Weslaco. Complimentary food and refreshments will be served at each facility during their designated week, with live mariachi music at each location during the day on May 5, aka Cinco de Mayo. The schedule is as follows:
South Texas Health System McAllen: Light food and refreshments on May 3-7; live mariachi music on May 5 from 11:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
South Texas Health System Edinburg: Light food and refreshments on May 10-14; live mariachi music on May 5 at 12:30 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.
South Texas Health System ER Mission: Light food and refreshments on May 17-21; live mariachi music on May 5 from 2:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.
South Texas Health System ER Weslaco: Light food and refreshments on May 24-28; live mariachi music on May 5 at 3:30 p.m – 4:00 p.m.
All South Texas Health System in-person events and promotions will continue to observe social distancing and mask protocols.
