Public Notice- City of Mission- CDBG



In compliance with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) rules and regulations, the City of Mission hereby announces the Proposed Annual Action Plan 2021-2022 is available for public review and comment. Further, there will be two public hearings held regarding the budget and proposed projects for the Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG). All interested agencies and citizens/residents are encouraged to attend and participate in the public hearing. The thirty-day comment period for this document is from May 14, 2021 through June 14, 2021. Oral and/or written comments will be accepted until 5:00 p.m. on Monday, June 14, 2021. In accordance with the order of the Governor issued on March 16, 2020 and in order to comply with “Social Distancing” there will be limited public access in Council Chambers to slow the spread of COVID-19. In accordance with Section 418.016 of the Texas Government Code members of the public as well as members of the City Council may choose to participate via teleconference.

The Citizens Advisory Committee made the following funding recommendations utilizing the City’s 2021 CDBG Allocation of $1,007,357.

g) (05N) Children’s Advocacy Center – $10,000

h) (05N) CASA of Hidalgo County – $3,000

i) (05Z) Silver Ribbon – $3,000

2) (14A) Housing Assistance Program- $686,000

Rehabilitation – $75,000 Reconstruction – $611,000

3) (14H) Housing Administration- $93,395

4) (21A) CD Program Administration$164,662
