I am pleased to inform you that the Board of Trustees has named Dr. Ricardo Solis as the sole finalist for the position of President of South Texas College pending final negotiations. He is expected to assume the office in the month of July 2021. We are excited to welcome Dr. Solis’ leadership as we enter the next chapter of South Texas College’s history.
The Board is confident that we have found a visionary leader in Dr. Solis whose work will further elevate this great institution while staying true to our mission of access and success. We look forward to building a strong collaboration that will transcend any challenges and cement the legacy of South Texas College as a transformational agent for our region.
Ricardo Solis, Ph.D., is President of Laredo College in Laredo, TX. He previously served as Executive Dean for Academic, Professional, and Technical Education at Gateway Community College, Maricopa Community Colleges, in Phoenix, AZ. Dr. Solis earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Higher Education Administration – Community College Leadership from The University of Texas at Austin in Austin, TX; a Master of Business Administration in International Management from Middlebury Institute of International Studies in Monterey, CA; and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Economics from Trinity University in San Antonio, TX.
