July 5 – The next Monday Manic Mixer hosted by the RGV Hispanic Chamber of Commerce begins at 5:30 p.m. at Legends Restaurant, 4901 Expressway 83, Ste. 100 in McAllen. There will be door prizes. July 8 – The next RGV Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Dinner & Chalupa event will be held at the Radisson Hotel in McAllen. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., with dinner at 6 p.m. and games at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $50. Every entry will receive four game cards with 80 chances to win a lucky prize.   Any business donating a prize valued at $50 or more will be able to purchase one ticket at half price. July 16 – Take your shoes off and sit a spell at the Old Fashion Bonfire & S-mores by the Beach event hosted by the RGV Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. It runs from Bring a lawn chair, swimsuit and towel, BYOB, guitars, boom box and best jokes for a casual networking opportunity. Call 956-928-0060 for the location and to pre-register. Cost is $25 per person.

August 28 – The International Museum of Art & Science (IMAS) will host the 42nd Collage Annual Gala at the McAllen Convention Center Ballroom. The IMAS will be honoring the City of McAllen for its steadfast support of the museum and its mission for 54 years. Tickets and sponsorship to Collage are available at theimasonline.org or by phone at 956-681-2800.

October 22-24 – The RGV Hispanic Chamber of Commerce will host First Annual RGV Jalapeño Amateur Championship. The three-day event will have a practice round on Friday with formal play on Saturday and Sunday. Spots are open for 150 golfers to sign up and participate. Maximum handicap allowed is 24, and the format is two-player team Florida Scramble. The handicap index differential between the two players may not exceed 10. The USGA Handicap System will be used.
