September 22 – The RGV Hispanic Chamber of Commerce’s Women’s Issues committee will host the Seventh Annual Latina Leadership Conference via Zoom. This year’s conference theme is #Adaptagility 2021 with a variety of presented by experts in their fields. Participants can enter questions or comments under the Chat Box. October 2 – Mission High School Classes alumni for 1970-79 will have a combined reunion at Mission Bell Resort, 1711 E. Business 83 in Mission. Music by The Cruisers will keep the dance party going from 6 p.m. to midnight. Individual tickets are $15 per person in advance and $20 at the door. Reserved tables for eight are $125. Tickets are going fast; early purchase is encouraged. Everyone attending is to bring their own beverages, coolers and food. October 26 – The 15th Annual Empty Bowls Luncheon and Silent Auction will take place from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Bert Ogden Arena in Edinburg. Local restaurants will provide tastings of their signature food offerings. It features music, silent auctions, and a drawing for a new Cartier watch or Louis Vuitton purse. One-of-a-kind ceramic bowls are included with each ticket. October 22-24 – The RGV Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (RGVHCC) announces their inaugural “RGV Jalapeño Amateur Championship Golf Tournament at McAllen Palm View Golf Course. Only 150 players will be allowed, handicaps of 19 or less will be accepted, and seven flights will be scheduled. Entry fee is $150 with enrollment to be done online or at the RGVHCC office, 801 E. January 22 – The Rio Grande Valley Hispanic Chamber of Commerce will sponsor the Tex-Mex Fest Grammy Tour scholarship fundraiser at Payne Arena in Hidalgo. Featured performers include La Mafia, Little Joe y Familia, and Elida y Avante. Doors open at 5 p.m., and the entertainment runs from 7 p.m. to midnight. Ticket prices are $20, $25, $35 and $45 per person. Tickets on the floor level are $100 per person. Tables for eight are available for $1,000.
