November 2– The next RGV Hispanic Chamber’s Manic Monday Mixer will begin at 5:30 p.m. at Rosmaní Restaurant, 1600 N. 10h St., McAllen.  For more information, call 956-928-0060 or email chamber@rgvhcc.com.

November 4– Quinta Mazatlán World Birding Center, 600 Sunset in McAllen, presents a program on “Fungi: History, Usage, and Health Benefits” with Mycological Solutions at 6 p.m. Mushroom products will be sold after the program. Tickets are $3 per person. For more information, call 956-681-3370.

November 6– The Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s® will be held at Tres Lagos Park, 4350 Tres Lagos Blvd., McAllen. To register and receive the latest updates on this year’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s, visit alz.org/walk.

November 17– The RGV Hispanic Chamber of Commerce will host a Meet & Greet Little Joe reception at the Casa de Palmas from 6 to 8 p.m. Little Joe y La Familia will be performing for a Scholarship Fundraising Concert for the RGV Hispanic Chamber Education Foundation on Jan. 22, 2022, along with La Mafia and Elida Reyna and Avante. November 16– Speer Memorial Library hosts the next book discussion for the book Girl with a Pearl Earring in the library’s Community Room, and online via Zoom, at 5:30 p.m. in Spanish, and at 6:30 p.m. in English.  A link will be sent to those who wish to attend via Zoom. Speer Memorial Library is located at 12th and Kika De La Garza in Mission. Free copies of the book will be available, while supplies last, to people who sign up for the discussions. January

January 22 – The Rio Grande Valley Hispanic Chamber of Commerce will sponsor the Tex-Mex Fest Grammy Tour scholarship fundraiser at Payne Arena in Hidalgo. Featured performers include La Mafia, Little Joe y Familia, and Elida y Avante. Doors open at 5 p.m., and the entertainment runs from 7 p.m. to midnight. Ticket prices are $20, $25, $35 and $45 per person. Tickets on the floor level are $100 per person. Tables for eight are available for $1,000.
