  • The Harlequin Drama Clubpresents Xanaduat 7 p.m. on all dates at the Veterans Memorial High School Performing Arts Center, 700 Two Mile Rd. in Mission. All tickets will be sold at the door each night. The tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students. The lobby will open at 6:15 p.m., and masks will be required.

  • McAllen Memorial High Schoolstudents bring back 1980’s music in their latest musical Rock of Ages: Teen Editionfeaturing over 20 of the most legendary 80’s rock anthems by legendary performers. Performances will be at the William Hetrick Auditorium at Memorial High School on Fridayat 7 p.m. and on Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m. Memorial High is at 101 E. Hackberry in McAllen.   • The Harlingen Community Theatre(HCT), 1209 Fair Park Blvd., presents the charming and fast-paced off-Broadway smash hit, The Marvelous Wonderettes. Performances are at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 2:30 p.m. on Sunday afternoon. Tickets are $25 for adults and $10 for children age 17 and under and sold at the box office on performance days: Friday and Saturday starting at 6:30 p.m. and Sunday at 1:30 p.m.             HCT has open seating and offers handicap accessibility.   • The Gladys Porter Zoo’sannual holiday celebration, Zoo Nights and Lights, will have the pathways lit and activities running from 6 to 9 p.m. each night. There will be live musical and dance performances, Christmas karaoke and book readings. Shop at the arts and crafts show and the GPZ gift shop. Guests will vote for their favorite tree in the staff contest. The price of admission is $5 for adults and $3 for children. Tickets are available on the zoo website or at the gate, or receive free admission by donating a new, unwrapped toy for the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation.   • The McAllen Holiday Paradereturns to a live, in-person presentation this year, stepping off at 6 p.m. from the McAllen Veterans Memorial Stadium, 2001 N. Bicentennial Blvd. Coming back are the illuminated, animated floats, giant helium Macy’s-style balloons, marching bands, celebrity appearances and guests hosts, along with fan-favorite vuelta in designated zones on the parade route.Fans can win sweepstakes prizes before and during the parade and participate in the free, family-friendly Christmas in the Park festival and carnival.   • Maestro Peter Dabrowksi leads the Valley Symphony Orchestraas they continue the VSO’s 70th anniversary season with the annual holiday tradition “A Touch of Frost”and the return of the Symphony Chorale under the direction of Dr. Sean Taylor.   • UTRGV Modern Band Ensembles and faculty bandcombine for a concert at 7 p.m. at the UTRGV Performing Arts Complex, 1201 W. University Dr., Edinburg. As the students learned new instruments, they made contemporary popular music of varied styles. The show features The Minör Revisiöns, a pop/rock band made up of UTRGV music faculty members. Admission is free.

  • Quinta Mazatlan’s Illumina Fest 2021is a five-day event featuring over 30 art installations as the Quinta Thornforest that is transformed into an illuminated winter wonderland. For tickets, to to QuintaMazatlan.ticketleap.com. Illumina Fest 2020 sold out; early ticket purchase is encouraged.

  • The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Department of Intercollegiate Athletics announced on Tuesday that the women’s basketball team will host the second annual UTRGV South Padre Island Classic, a four-game tournament featuring UTRGV, UTSA, Liberty and Grand Canyon at the South Padre Island Convention Centre.
