March 18

  • It’s Brain Day at the International Museum of Art & Science, 1900 W. Nolana Ave., McAllen. From 1 to 5 p.m., discover the ins and outs about brain structure, function, and more through hands-on activities and research posters. Talks with neuroscience researchers will occur from 2 to 3:30 p.m. General admission is $3 and $1 for ages 4 to 12 and WIC/EBT recipients. Ages 3 and under and IMAS members get in free. March 25

  • Maestro Peter Dabrowski leading the next Valley Symphony Orchestra concert will be a 70th anniversary celebration, as the VSOwelcomes returning soloist Daniel Saenz, a lauded cellist who began his music career with the VSO and now teaches and performs across the country. Patrons can receive the latest information and sign up for the VSO’s email list at valleyorchestra.org or by calling the VSO office Monday through Friday between 12 and 5 p.m. All performances take place at 8 p.m. at the McAllen Performing Arts Center.

March 27

  • Grammy and Latin Grammy Award winners Jesse & Joy bring their “Cliches World Tour”to the McAllen Perofrming Arts Center for a 7:30 p.m. show. Also performing will be Little Jesus and Chule. Ticket prices range from $24 to $115 and can be found at jesseyjoy.com or ticketmaster.

  • The UTRGV Senior Dance Projects spring semester performances will be held at 7:30 p.m. at the Edinburg Performing Arts Complex, 1201 W. University Dr., Edinburg.   • UTRGVUniversity Productions presents Red, a drama by John Logan, at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. on Sunday, with ASL interpretation for the Saturday evening performance. It will be staged in the Allbert L. Jeffers Theatre house in the campus Liberal Arts Building South.
