Palmview’s top two mayoral candidates head to a runoff

The mayor’s race had three candidates, Mayor Ricardo Villarreal, Linda Sarabia and Pamela Flores.

Villarreal received 48% of 1,598 votes cast for a total of 767 overall votes but fell short of the majority vote required to win the race. Sarabia came in second with 36.36% and a total of 581 votes, while Flores trailed behind with 15.64%, earning 250 votes.

A contender must earn a majority vote to win the mayoral election.

      majority vote has to be more than half google is free
