July 4
- McAllen’s 94th Annual Independence Day Celebration begins with an early morning patriotic program at 8 a.m., followed by the Main Street Parade at 9 a.m. along Main St. from Houston Ave. to Beech Ave. and then the Freedom Festival at Archer Park, 101 N. Main, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for classic family fun, music, food, and games. The day ends at Municipal Park, 1921 N. Bicentennial Blvd., from 6 to 10 p.m., for more food, live music and entertainment. Starting at 9 p.m., the H-E-B Concert in the Sky fireworks extravaganza will go live from Municipal Park; listen to the fireworks set to patriotic music by tuning in to 710-AM KURV.
July 16
- UTRGV’s Summer Alegría 2022 is planned for 7:30 p.m. at the Performing Arts Complex, 1201 W. University Dr., Edinburg. Ticket prices are $15 for adults, $10 for students and senior citizens, and $5 for children. For more information, call 956-665-2230 or go to utrgv.edu/dance.

University Dr. Vendors are invited to participate, including artist, craft, beverage and food vendors. Interested persons should review details and sign up at edinburgarts.com/vendors.
