September 10 & 24 – The Museum of South Texas History will host a two-part genealogy workshop, “Discover Your Past with Esther Camacho,” at 1 p.m. on both dates. The first workshop covers the basics on beginning genealogical research. At the second date, participants will receive knowledge about resources readily available online for research. September 16 – The Women’s Committee of the RGV Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the City of Edinburg will host the annual Latina Leadership Conference at the DHR Conference Center in Edinburg. Key topics include Protecting Your Legacy, Healthcare Post Dobbs – the decision that Overturned Roe vs. wade; Mental Wellness, Adapting to Technology, and more. October 20 –The Idea Public Schools annual dinner and auction fundraiser, “Reach for the Stars,” begins at 6:30 p.m. at the Mission Events Center, 200 N. Shary Rd. The black-tie formal event features a complimentary valet service and music along with the dinner and auction – all followed by an after party. Sponsorships range from $2,500 to $50,000. November 4– The RGV Hispanic Chamber of Commerce annual “Noche de Gala” will be held at the Kalos Event Center, 1516 E. Expressway 83, Mission. The event highlights business honorees and includes a dinner, dance and silent and live auction items. Funds raised benefit the RGVHCC which is primarily funded through the membership dues, corporate partners and events like this.
