Daniel Hunter-Holly, baritone, and Allan Armstrong, pianist, present a recital at 7 p.m. at the TSC Performing Arts Center, 90 Taylor Ave., Brownsville. The program includes modern American composer Judith Cloud’s settings of “ancient” Italian songs and arias, songs by Stephen Sondheim, and more.

John Cage presents “Sonatas and Interludes for Prepared Piano” at the TSC Performing Arts Center, 90 Taylor Ave. in Brownsville, at 3 p.m. The selection of pieces for the performance are inspired by Hinduism, avant-garde music, and groundbreaking choreography.

Pianist Juan Andrade will perform in a solo recital to feature the works of composers who have created works paying homage to other composers. Composers do this by either borrowing from a theme or emulating a style to create new compositions. The performance includes the works of Maurice Ravel, Federico Mompou, Robert Helps and more. It begins at 7 p.m. at the TSC Performing Arts Center, 90 Taylor Ave., Brownsville.

An art showfeaturing the works of Turgo Rojare will be held from 7 to 11 p.m. at Cosmos Workspace, 1200 N. 10th St., Ste. E, McAllen. Los Angeles Azules is returning to the United States with their upcoming De Iztapalapa Para el Mundo Tour. The Mejía-Avante siblings will perform for the first time several cities and will be making a stop at Bert Ogden Arena in Edinburg. With a completely revamped production, De Iztapalapa Para el Mundo will include special guests to perform the group’s most iconic songs, as well as their recent hits “Cumbia a la gente” and “Otra noche.” Tickets are available at losangelesazules.com.mx.

Join the International Museum of Art & Science for their annual Día de los Metros Festival from 1 to 5 p.m. The event will include performances, altar displays created by community organizations, and the Market at the Museum featuring regional artists and artisans. Activities include candle painting, exhibit tours, and a sugar skull decorating booth. Cost to make the sugar skulls is $3 each. The event is included in the regular museum admission. It’s Tigres vs Pachuca in the Rio Grande Valley. Medio Tiempo Soccer Group and H-E-B Park officially announce the arrival of the Liga MX Femenil. The UTRGV Theatre presents the chilling play, Frankenstein, from the novel by Mary Shelley, and adapted by Joshua Kennedy and Marco Muñoz. It will be at the Albert L. Jeffers Theatre, 1201 W. University Ave., Edinburg. Continuing the UTRGV Theatre Halloween tradition, this performance is a new re-telling of Shelley’s work. The performances are 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. on Sunday. The show starts promptly at the time stated; no late entry will be allowed until intermission. The 16th Annual 2022 Fiesta de Palmas will feature six stages of local and regional performers and new attractions at the McAllen Convention Center and will feature a line-up of live music, Fiesta’s Grand Carnival rides, diverse foods, Artisan Mercado, children’s interactivities and more.
