September 28– The RGV Hispanic Chamber will host their monthly Coffee with the CEO webinar on at 9 a.m. with Eduardo A. Campirano, Port of Brownsville director and CEO.  To join the meeting, go to Zoom.com and use the meeting ID 840-7369 4980. For more information on the webinar call the RGVHCC office at 928-0060.

September 28– The RGV Hispanic Chamber of Commerce will host a networking “Social Business Mixer” from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Harlingen Hilton Hotel and Harlingen Convention Center, 751 Harlingen Heights Dr. Appetizers will be provided.  Anyone bringing a door prize will get an opportunity to talk about their business.  RGVHCC membership is not required. September 29– Celebrate National Coffee Day from 6 to 7 p.m. at Quinta Mazatlán World Birding Center to discover little-known facts and misconceptions about coffee, the making process, differences in flavor profiles, and more. September 29– Explore the night sky with the Star Stories workshop at 8:30 p.m. at Bentsen-RGV State Park, 2800 S. Bentsen Palm Dr. Reservations are required by calling 956-584-9156. Programs are included with park admission. Meet at the tram turnaround at park headquarters.

October 4 –Speer Memorial Library in Mission hosts a discussion of the book Britt-Marie Was Here, to take place in the library’s Community Room at 5:30 p.m. in Spanish, and at 6:30 p.m. in English.  The public is invted. Copies of the book available for check out to those who sign up for the book discussion; stop by the library or call at 956-580-8754 to secure a copy via Interlibrary Loan. This title is available in English and Spanish as an eBook, and in English as an eAudiobook, at ebook.yourcloudlibrary.com/library/HidalgoCountyLS. October 20 –The Idea Public Schools annual dinner and auction fundraiser, “Reach for the Stars,” begins at 6:30 p.m. at the Mission Events Center, 200 N. Shary Rd. The black-tie formal event features a complimentary valet service and music along with the dinner and auction – all followed by an after party. Sponsorships range from $2,500 to $50,000. November 4– The RGV Hispanic Chamber of Commerce annual “Noche de Gala” will be held at the Kalos Event Center, 1516 E. Expressway 83, Mission.  The event highlights business honorees and includes a dinner, dance and silent and live auction items. Funds raised benefit the RGVHCC which is primarily funded through the membership dues, corporate partners and events like this.
