March 17-18 – The Spring Break Scavenger Hunt continues at the Museum of South Texas History happening from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day. Families can pick up a game card in the museum’s Grand Lobby. Complete the game cards by participating in scavenger hunt activities. Visitors are also required to complete a free butterfly craft to turn in a game card. Participants with completed game cards will receive a small token. The game cards submitted will be entered into a grand prize drawing, and the lucky winner will be announced at the end of the week. March 23 –The South Texas All Hazards Conference will be held at the McAllen Performing Arts Center and McAllen Convention Center in McAllen. Registration for the conference is open to anyone from public health, public safety, public works, incident and emergency management, law enforcement, and educational institutions who respond to emergencies. March 25– Reading with a Ranger begins at 10:30 a.m. at Bentsen-RGV State Park. Meet at La Familia Nature Center near the park entrance. Call ahead to confirm the schedule and details at 956-584-9156. It is located on 2800 S. Bentsen Palm Dr. in Mission.

March 26– The Useful and Edible Plant Walk at Bentsen-RGV State Park begins at 9 a.m. Meet at the tram turnaround at park headquarters; call ahead to confirm the schedule and details at 956-584-9156. It is located on 2800 S. Bentsen Palm Dr. in Mission.

April 5 – The Museum of South Texas History, 200 N. Closner Blvd., invites the community to the first meeting of Pages of the Past book club at 7 p.m. and discuss the book “House Built on Ashes” by José Antonio Rodriguez. During the evening, museum staff and participants will engage in a book discussion and brainstorm about the future of the book club followed by an after-hours tour of the museum.  Pre-register online at mosthistory.org/pages-of-the-past-book-club or call 956-383-6911 by March 31.
