March 25– Reading with a Ranger begins at 10:30 a.m. at Bentsen-RGV State Park. Meet at La Familia Nature Center near the park entrance. Call ahead to confirm the schedule and details at 956-584-9156. It is located on 2800 S. Bentsen Palm Dr. in Mission.

March 25– McAllen Public Library will host its second annual Community Family Health Fair from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Main Library located at 4001 N. 23rd St. There will be free activities and health screenings for children and adults. The event is free and open to the public. For more information, call the library at 956-681-3000, or go to mcallenlibrary.net.

March 26– The Useful and Edible Plant Walk at Bentsen-RGV State Park begins at 9 a.m. Meet at the tram turnaround at park headquarters; call ahead to confirm the schedule and details at 956-584-9156. It is located on 2800 S. Bentsen Palm Dr. in Mission.

April 3– The RGV Hispanic Chamber of Commerce’s next Manic Monday Mixer will be held at La Bahia Mexican Restaurant, 4620 N. 10th in McAllen.  To share information about a business, bring a door prize. For more information on membership to the RGVHCC call 928-0060.

April 5 – The Museum of South Texas History, 200 N. Closner Blvd., invites the community to the first meeting of Pages of the Past book club at 7 p.m. and discuss the book “House Built on Ashes” by José Antonio Rodriguez. During the evening, museum staff and participants will engage in a book discussion and brainstorm about the future of the book club followed by an after-hours tour of the museum.  Pre-register online at mosthistory.org/pages-of-the-past-book-club or call 956-383-6911 by March 31.
