- The 17th annual statewide Big Squeeze Youth Accordion Contest, featuring young accordion players across Texas, returns to the Bullock Museum, 1800 Congress Ave., from 1 to 4 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. The event features performances from Josh Baca & the Hot Tamales, fronted by Los Texmaniacs’ Grammy-nominated accordionist Josh Baca, and North Texas accordion teacher and musician Elena Fainshtein.
- The South Padre Island Jailbreak Beach Escape will be a two-day event at Clayton’s Beach Bar and Grill. The one-of-a-kind obstacle course race challenges participants to climb over walls, crawl through sand, navigate tire climbs and more.
