June 10 – A bowling fundraiser to support the Lions Eye Bank of Texas will be held at Incredibowl in Mission. Sign-in begins at 11 a.m. and bowling starts at 12 p.m. Registration is $40 for individuals and $150 for four-person teams. Individuals can register on site the day of the tournament. June 22 – The South Texas Senior Summit – Hidalgo County, sponsored by the RGV Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Hacienda San Juan, 522 S. Iowa in San Juan. This is a free event for seniors age 60 and over, offering activities and education seminars on health, Medicare, Medicaid, fraud and abuse. UTRGV Medical School will give free wellness exams.
