July 3– Join members of the RGV Hispanic Chamber at the next Manic Monday Mixer at The Radisson Hotel, 2721 S. 10th St. in McAllen, from 5 to 7 p.m.  Bring business cards to pass around. The Radisson will provide appetizers.

July 3-14, July 17-28 & July 31-August 11– The UREC Camps at UTRGV Edinburg are for 1st–5th grades. Campers will explore fitness in recreational games, team sports, dance, swimming and climbing. To register, go to utrgv.edu/urec/programs/camps/index.htm

July 5-28– The S.T.R.I.V.E Summer Drama Camp is a three-week summer camp at the UTRGVEdinburg campus for children ages 8 through 14 (3rd – 9th grades). Camp sessions run 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Designed to build and perpetuate children’s theatre in 12 different teaching areas students will learn improvisation and imagination, language and communication, creative problem solving, concentration and memorization, vocal articulation and projection, movement skills, emotional expression, acting in an ensemble, and technical theatre. July 6-7– The Upper Valley Art League is offering a two-day art workshop for ages 8 to 17. The Drawing workshop runs 9:30 a.m. to noon. Cost includes all materials and is taught by a UVAL member. July 8Summer Saturdays at the Museum wraps up in 1910 Jail galleries from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Museum of South Texas History. The jail calls attention to the change and growth of South Texas communities in the early 20th century and the importance of civics. Participants will be summoned to serve as jurors in a mock trial on gold found in San Diego, Texas—making this activity an interactive civics lesson. Visitors can earn “MOSTH Bucks,” which can be redeemed for prizes located at La Bodega. Play money can also buy entries for a chance to win a customized museum puzzle. July 10-14– The IGNITE Youth Summer Camp at the UTRGV Edinburg campus is for 5th–6th grade students and runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Students will engage in a series of activities and tasks to integrate, design, and develop science, technology, engineering, and mathematics ideas and concepts. July 15 & August 5– The UTRGV Baseball Prospect Camps run from 11 a.m.-3:30 p.m. at the Edinburg campus.  Campers age 14 and up can showcase their abilities while being evaluated by college coaches. Position players will be evaluated in hitting, defense, speed, and arm strength, while pitchers will get instruction through a guided bullpen setting. Cost is $125, pitchers; $150, position players; and $165, two-way players. Register at GoUTRGV.com/BaseballCamps.

July 24-28– A STEM Coding Camp  will be held at the UTRGV Edinburg campus for 9th–12th grades and runs from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Students will participate in interactive, coding activities to learn concepts of computer programming, refine critical thinking skills. July 31–August 3– The UTRGV Men’s Basketball co-ed camps for grades 2nd-6th runs 9 a.m. -12 p.m. and grades 7th-12th are 1-4 p.m. These camps are open to all skill levels to teach fundamentals of basketball. All campers will receive a camp T-shirt and a basketball. Gatorade, water and snacks will be available for purchase from the snack bar; cash only. Costis $225; register at GoUTRGV.com/MBBCamps.
