July 8– Summer Saturdays at the Museum wraps up in 1910 Jail galleries from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Museum of South Texas History. The jail calls attention to the change and growth of South Texas communities in the early 20th century and the importance of civics. Participants will be summoned to serve as jurors in a mock trial on gold found in San Diego, Texas—making this activity an interactive civics lesson. Visitors can earn “MOSTH Bucks,” which can be redeemed for prizes located at La Bodega. Play money can also buy entries for a chance to win a customized museum puzzle. Position players will be evaluated in hitting, defense, speed, and arm strength, while pitchers will get instruction through a guided bullpen setting.
