July 15 & August 5– The UTRGV Baseball Prospect Camps run from 11 a.m.-3:30 p.m. at the Edinburg campus.  Campers age 14 and up can showcase their abilities while being evaluated by college coaches. Position players will be evaluated in hitting, defense, speed, and arm strength, while pitchers will get instruction through a guided bullpen setting. Cost is $125, pitchers; $150, position players; and $165, two-way players. Register at GoUTRGV.com/BaseballCamps.

July 15-16– The UTRGV Volleyball High School Elite Camp, for grades 9th-12th, runs 9-11 a.m. and 1-3 p.m.  Sessions will cover fundamentals, such as passing, setting, hitting and serving. Cost is $185.50; register at GoUTRGV.com/VBCamps.

July 16– Reservations are required for the Knots for Everyday Use at Bentsen-RGV State Park and begins at 10 a.m. Programs are free with park admission. July 17-21Visual Artists, for incoming 6th-12th graders, is the next IMAS Operation Imagination: Summer Camp. Camp includes activities, exhibit exploration, outdoor recess and an afternoon snack. Campers must have a reusable water bottle; a light jacket is recommended. Lunch is offered for all campers; those with dietary needs are welcome to bring their own lunch and snacks. Registration is online at theimasonline.org/summer-camp. Cost is $190 and $152 for IMAS members. Details can be found on the IMAS website. IMAS is at 1900 W. Nolana, McAllen.

Cost includes all materials and is taught by a UVAL member. Registrations must be done in person at UVAL located at the Kika De La Garza Fine Arts Center, 921 E. 12th St., Mission. July 24-28– A STEM Coding Camp  will be held at the UTRGV Edinburg campus for 9th–12th grades and runs from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Students will participate in interactive, coding activities to learn concepts of computer programming, refine critical thinking skills. July 29IMAS hosts an Adult Science Workshop: Squid Dissection from 2 to 4 p.m. Cost is $25 and $20 for members. Dive deep into the world of squids through a hands-on dissection of a shortfin squid and learn about the anatomy and adaptations of these intelligent cephalopods. This workshop is for science enthusiasts ages 18 and up and led by Educator Selena Garza. Registration includes admission. IMAS is at 1900 Nolana Ave. in McAllen. Call 956-681-2800 for information. July 31–August 3– The UTRGV Men’s Basketball co-ed camps for grades 2nd-6th runs 9 a.m. -12 p.m. and grades 7th-12th are 1-4 p.m. These camps are open to all skill levels to teach fundamentals of basketball. All campers will receive a camp T-shirt and a basketball. Gatorade, water and snacks will be available for purchase from the snack bar; cash only. Costis $225; register at GoUTRGV.com/MBBCamps.
