 PUBLIC NOTICE

The City of Alton will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at 7:30 p.m. at the City Hall Legislative Chambers located at 509 S. Alton Boulevard to consider the following request:

REZONE REQUESTS:

(1) The City of Alton, is requesting to Rezone a Tract at the 200 S. Inspiration Blvd. Block, from “MF-1” (Multi-Family- Low Density) District to “C-2” (General Commercial) District as legally described as follows; 

Tract: Being a 2.534 acre tract, more or less, approximately 363 ft. south of W. 5 Mile Avenue along the east side of S. Inspiration Blvd, coming out of Lot 40-1, West Addition to Sharyland Subdivision recorded in Volume 1, Page 56, Map Records, Hidalgo County, Texas.

(2) Juan R. Reyes, is requesting to Rezone a Tract at 206 W. Kohala Avenue, from “R-2” (Single Family Residential Standard Lot) District to “C-2” (General Commercial) District to as legally described as follows; 

Tract I: Being a 0.79 acre tract out of the south 158.5 feet of the north 670 feet of the east 513.33 feet of Lot 42-6, West Addition to Sharyland Subdivision recorded in Volume 1, Page 56, Map Records, Hidalgo County, Texas.

(3) Ricardo S & Isabel C. Fuentes are requesting to Rezone a Tract at 711 S. Shary Blvd., from “R-2” (Single Family Residential Standard Lot) District with a portion being “C-2” (General Commercial) District to “MF-1” (Multi- Family- Low Density) District as legally described as follows;

Tract: Being a 11.012 acre tract of land, more or less, out of Lot 394, John H. Shary Subdivision recorded in Volume 1, Page 17, Map Records, Hidalgo County, Texas.

The public is invited to attend the public hearing or file written support for or opposition to this application by 12:00 noon on March 12, 2024, for the Planning and Zoning and the City Commission. If you will be attending and speaking advise the Planning Department before 5:00 p.m.
