Mission residents arrested for cocaine possession

The Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office arrested four Mission natives after discovering 200 grams of narcotics inside their residence last Thursday.

Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) investigators arrived on scene at a residence on the 2700 block of Graham Ave. in rural Mission. With a search warrant in hand, they searched the home, only to find 200 grams of cocaine inside the residence.

Sergeant and Public Information Officer Enrique Longoria stated that the HCSO could not say where they located the narcotics inside the property.

Arrested were 63-year-old Mario Vasquez, 65-year-old Maria Vasquez, 39-year-old Yaneth Vasquez and 47-year-old Hector Mendoza for manufacturing and delivering a controlled substance.

Manufacture, delivery, or possession of a miscellaneous substance is a third-degree felony, meaning this quartet could face prison for up to 10 years alongside a maximum fine of $10,000 under Texas law.

“It’s still ongoing,” said Longoria.
