Mission Lions mark 100 years with Community Day celebration

MISSION — On Saturday, the Mission Lions Club celebrated its 100th anniversary with a Community Day event that drew residents, families, and local supporters together for a day of service, recognition, and community pride.

The event, held in Mission, honored a century of the club’s commitment to serving the community. Attendees enjoyed a variety of activities, including family-friendly games, informational booths, and opportunities to connect with local organizations and resources.

A highlight of the celebration was the unveiling of a newly painted mural and commemorative display, symbolizing the Lions’ legacy of service and their continued dedication to the Mission community. Club members, easily recognized by their signature yellow vests, gathered for a group photo and reflected on the organization’s long-standing impact.

“This milestone represents 100 years of service, compassion, and commitment to our community,” a club representative said. “We are grateful to everyone who has supported our efforts throughout the years and helped us reach this moment.”

The Mission Lions Club also recognized the contributions of sponsors and community partners whose support helped make the event possible. Their involvement ensured a successful celebration and highlighted the strong partnerships that continue to benefit local residents.

Founded in Mission decades ago, the Lions Club has played an active role in community service, including vision care initiatives, youth programs, and outreach.

As the organization looks ahead, members say they remain focused on continuing their mission of service and strengthening their connection to the community.

The 100th anniversary celebration served as both a reflection on the past and a renewed commitment to the future.
