Police: 1 dead after auto-pedestrian collision in Sullivan City
A motorist struck and killed a man Saturday morning in Sullivan City.
At about 6:30 a.m. Saturday, the Sullivan City Police Department responded to an auto-pedestrian collision on U.S. 83, said police Chief Richard Ozuna.
The motorist reported that a group of people attempted to run across U.S. 83. The motorist accidentally struck and killed a Hispanic man in his mid-20s, who died at the scene.
Ozuna said the motorist, who is a resident of Starr County, stayed at the scene and cooperated with police officers.
The Texas Department of Public Safety and the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office assisted police with the investigation.
