In what Hidalgo County Judge Richard F. Cortez calls an “encouraging sign,” the county reported the lowest number of new COVID-19 cases in nearly a month.
Four new cases in the county were reported Saturday, according to a news release from the county.
“The numbers testing positive are encouraging, but the numbers of those hospitalized remain constant and we are hoping to see a downturn in that area,” Cortez said in the news release, which added that 21 people remain in area hospitals with five in intensive care units.
The four new cases include three females from Edinburg, Palmview and Weslaco and one Mission male. Their ages range form the 20s to 40s, the release stated.
