Mission CISD to offer Drive Up Wifi for students

On Monday, Mission CISD will begin offering internet access to students.

Several campuses across the district will offer a Drive Up Wifi service for students to receive internet access while parked in their vehicles from Monday through Friday from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., the district announced Thursday.

“Technology inequalities have presented a real challenge for the district as it has strived to fulfill its state mandate to continue student instruction as best as possible,”district Superintendent Dr. Carol G. Perez, said in a news release. “Access to the internet has been one of the obstacles that we are now able to help out with by leveraging the existing wireless internet access at a number of our schools.”

The Drive Up Wifi will be available at the following locations:

  • Mission Collegiate High School (front drive and student parking)

  • Mission High School (visitor parking and Neuhaus Gym parking)

  • Veterans Memorial High School (visitor parking, Mayberry parking, west staff parking)

  • R. Cantu Jr. High School (visitor parking, bus loop, rear staff parking)

  • Mission Jr. High School (Kika Loop staff parking, 14th St. staff parking)

  • K. White Jr. High School (visitor parking, staff parking, bus loop)

  • Alton Memorial Jr. High School (visitor parking, staff parking)

  • Alton Elementary School (both visitor parking areas)

  • Bryan Elementary School (visitor parking on Elm, staff parking on Bryan)

  • Cavazos Elementary School (staff parking, two visitor parking areas)

  • Leal Elementary School (visitor parking)

  • Marcell Elementary School (visitor parking, staff parking)

  • Salinas Elementary School (visitor parking, staff parking)

The Drive Up Wifi signal will be identified as: Mission CISD student Wifi. The student password is: student2020.

All participants must remain in their cars and abide by local social distancing requirements while on school grounds. Security guards will be on duty during the Drive Up Wifi times.
