The amount of known CPVID-19 cases now stands at 29,209 after 127 new cases were reported Thursday.
According to a news release, 21 more souls were lost to the novel coronavirus, – bringing the total amount of people of people in the county who have died from this disease to 1,355.
“Hidalgo County shares heartfelt condolences with the 21 families who have lost a loved one today,” Hidalgo County Judge Richard F. Cortez said. “We have to do our part and stay home unless we absolutely need to leave for an essential activity. The safety and well-being of you and your loved ones is of the utmost importance.”
269 people remain in area hospitals with with COID-19 related complications with 92 of those being treated in intensive care units.
110 people were released from isolation Thursday meaning a total of 25,746 COVID-19 patients have been symptom free for 10 days, including three without a fever.
