Four more COVID-19 related deaths and 164 new positive cases were reported Monday by officials with the Hidalgo County Health and Human Services Department, Hidalgo County Judge Richard F. Cortez said Tuesday.
The result is a total of 1,899 recorded deaths related to the outbreak of this disease and 34,343 known positive cases. 2,498 of those cases remain active, according to a news release from the county
“I continue to lament over these deaths and I send heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of those who have perished from this vicious disease,” Hidalgo County Judge Richard F. Cortez said in a statement. “We will get through this as a community.”
175 people remain in area hospitals with COVID-19 related complications with 66 of them being treated in intensive care units.
