May 19– The next night time adventure Owl Prowl at Bentsen-RGV State Park begins at 7:30 p.m.; reservation required. Programs are included with park admission. May 20– Take a journey on the Resaca Vieja Nature Hike at Bentsen-RGV State Park at 8:30 a.m.  It’s the kids’ turn later that day at 2 p.m. for the Jr. Ranger Club; reservation required. May 24– The Sharyland Baccalaureate service begins at 7 p.m. at the Pioneer High School gym. Micah Crump, Lead Student Pastor at Palm Valley Church, will be the guest speaker. The public is invited to attend.

June 6-9– IMAS Operation Imagination: Summer Camp begins with SciTech Camp, for incoming 4th-8th grade campers. Camp includes activities, exhibit exploration, outdoor recess and an afternoon snack. June 22 – The South Texas Senior Summit – Hidalgo County, sponsored by the RGV Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Hacienda San Juan, 522 S. Iowa in San Juan. This is a free event for seniors age 60 and over, offering activities and education seminars on health, Medicare, Medicaid, fraud and abuse. UTRGV Medical School will give free wellness exams.
