OBIT – Dr. David E. Reed
MISSION – David E. Reed, DDS, MS, 70, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 6, 2016, at his home in Mission.
Dr. Reed was born in Buffalo, N.Y., to Gertrude “Dolly” Mary Christine Michlich Reed and Delbert Andrew Reed. He was raised in Arlington where he graduated from high school. He went on to attend the University of Texas at Arlington, where he was a member of Kappa Alpha fraternity and received his bachelor’s degree. He then went to the University of Texas School of Dentistry in Houston where he obtained his DDS degree and a master’s degree.
Dr. Reed was a founding member of Valley Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in McAllen where he practiced dentistry for more than 35 years.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Kandy Kern Reed; children, Brian Reed and Lindsay Klinck; sister, Jill Niles; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 9, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Kreidler Funeral Home in McAllen. A service will be held on Thursday, Nov. 10, at 11 a.m. at Baptist Temple in McAllen. A graveside service follows.
