OBIT – Maria Gasca
MISSION – Maria De Jesus “Chuyita” Gasca, 88, passed away on Saturday, July 7, 2018, at Comfort House in McAllen.
Mrs. Gasca was born on April 18, 1930, in Kenedy to Genaro and Epifania (Hernandez) Garcia. She was a long-time Mission resident and member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church of Mission.
Survivors include her husband, Pascual Gasca Sr.; children, Pascual Gasca Jr. of Gilroy, Calif., Jose Luis Gasca of Mission, Jose Manuel Gasca of Las Vegas, Nev., and Armando Gasca and Mary Carrizales, both of Mission; siblings, Genoveva Salinas of McAllen and Margarita Hernandez of California; and 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Luis, Francisco and Cayetano Gasca; and sister, Guadalupe De La Fuente.
A funeral mass was held on July 11 at Our Lady of Guadalupe. Burial followed at Valley Memorial Gardens in Mission. Funeral arrangements were under the care of Rivera Funeral Home of Mission.
