OBIT – Elida Hernandez

EDINBURG – Mrs. Elida H. Hernandez, 86, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 10, 2018 at Doctors Hospital in Edinburg.

Mrs. Hernandez was born on Sept. 11, 1932, in Alice to Matias and Maria (Peña) Hinojosa. She was a former resident of Mission and Palmview before moving to Edinburg in 2005. She attended Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Peñitas.

Survivors include her daughters, Estrella Hernandez, Maria Hernandez, Raul Hernandez, Marco Hernandez and Roberto Hernandez; siblings, Felicitas Hinojosa, Rene Hinojosa, Angelica Hinojosa, Zoyla Hinojosa, Tomas Hinojosa and Jose De Jesus Hinojosa; and 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ramon Hernandez, and her parents.

A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 14, at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Mission.

Burial follows at San Jose Cemetery in Mission. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Rivera Funeral Home in Mission.
