MCALLEN – Aida Guerra, 89, entered eternal rest on Saturday, July 29, 2023. She was born October 9, 1933, in Kenedy, Texas, and lived in McAllen.
Aida was preceded in death by her former husband, Gilbert Guerra, Sr.; her parents, Ruben and Marina Garza; her siblings, Ruben Garza, Jr., Marina Saldana, Oscar Garza, and Baldemar Garza; and her children, Gilbert Guerra Jr., Ronnie Guerra, and Richard Guerra.
She is survived by her son, David Guerra (Rose), and seven grandchildren: Mario Luis (Erika) Guerra, Laura Yvonne (Isaac) Zavala, Isaac Hiram (Linda) Guerra, Michael David (Audrey) Guerra, Christopher Daniel (Debbie) Guerra, Robert Eric (Rachel Cardenas) Guerra and David Adam Guerra; and five great-grandchildren: Jadyn, Cataleya and Liam Guerra, and Jude and Jade Zavala.
Aida lived life to the fullest and her laughter was contagious to those all around. She was adventurous and traveled to many European countries. Aida was also known to go on several cruises, and she loved spending time at the beach.
A Rosary and Memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. on Monday, August 7, at Ceballos Funeral Home, 1023 N. 23rd St., McAllen, Texas 78501, with visitation from 3 to 8 p.m. A chapel service will be held at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, August 8, at Ceballos Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Valley Memorial Gardens, 3611 N. Taylor Rd, Mission, TX 78573, at 10 a.m. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

She was always with a smile on her face and joking. I have fond memories of her, and how much she made me laugh. She was a sweet lady. May she rest in peace
