NOTICE OF FUNDING AVAILABILITY AND NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

FOR ANNUAL ACTION PLAN FISCAL YEAR 2026-2027

The City of Mission anticipates receiving approximately $992,431 through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Entitlement Program for fiscal year 2026-2027 from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Eligible activities include but are not limited to: public services such as, services for seniors, health, youth; housing activities and infrastructure improvements such as water, sewer or drainage. Eligibility requirements may be found at: www.hudexchange.info/programs/cdbg-entitlement/cdbg-entitlement-program-eligibility-requirements/. All proposed projects must meet one of the following national objectives:

1. Principally benefits low- and moderate-income persons. 2. Aids in the prevention or elimination of slums and blight. 3. Meets a need having a particular urgency.

Applications will be accepted from organizations/agencies for Fiscal Year 2026 (October 1, 2026 through September 30, 2027) from Monday, February 2, 2026 8:00 a.m. until Friday, March 6, 2026 by 5:00 p.m. The application is available and may be submitted through: portal.neighborlysoftware.com/MISSIONTX/participant or the city’s website: https://missiontexas.us/181/community-development/. Public Hearing for the Annual Action Plan (AAP) FY 2026-2027

The City of Mission will conduct a public hearing on Thursday, March 26, 2026 at Mission City Hall Council Chambers, 1201 E. 8th Street, Mission, Texas at 5:30 p.m. to solicit comments from interested residents and organizations/agencies for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program. All written comments may be submitted to address listed or by email to [email protected]. Comments received will be considered for preparation of the City of Mission’s AAP. Interested parties are encouraged to attend and make their views known. The City of Mission encourages citizen participation in the development and implementation of these documents.

Accommodations for persons with disabilities/handicapped, non-English speaking, or limited English proficiency (LEP) who may require interpreters shall be provided upon request by calling (956) 580-8670 at least three days in advance of meeting. Persons who are deaf, hard-of-hearing, deaf-blind, or speech-disabled may use Relay Texas at 1-800-735-2989, a text telephone (TTY) user or 711 (VOICE).
