Aurora Cruz

August 27, 1945 – April 7, 2026

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Aurora Cruz on April 7, 2026, at her home in Donna, Texas surrounded by family.

She was born August 27, 1945, to Gregoria “Candelaria” Cruz (née Carrizales) and Gregorio Cruz, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also predeceased by her brother, Leo. The eldest of all her siblings, she was the anchor that held the family together. She was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, mentor and friend.

Aurora was a dedicated nurse of over 35 years. She was a generous and compassionate soul who devoted her life to helping and caring for others.

Whether it be a patient or someone who needed support, she was always there.

Her knowledge, work-ethic, and honest spirit inspired many.

Aurora was never without a cup of coffee, enjoyed reading books and magazines, spoiled her precious cats, and loved flowers.

We would like to thank the staff at Bristol Hospice, especially Samantha, Eileen, Esmeralda, and Eva for their compassionate care and support.

Aurora is survived by her sister Elva, brothers Gregorio “Goyo” Jr., Efrain, sister Janie, brother Celestino, and sisters Marta, Leticia and Monica.
